COVID-19 UPDATE from IAF

Following the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we wanted to get in touch with our worldwide community to update you on the IAF activities, and also to offer solidarity with you at this challenging time.

The IAF Secretariat has been reviewing the situation since January and eventually took the decision to suspend all face-to-face interactions.
Our website is the main source of information about our response to the ongoing situation, with this resource being regularly updated.
We will also keep sharing information with you via email and through channels like social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).

The Federation remains operational and open so that we can provide support for the many of you who submitted a plenary proposal, an IAF GNF session, an abstract, or were supposed to meet at the IAF Spring Meetings. Please keep getting in touch with us with your requests. In keeping with official French government advice, the IAF Secretariat is presently working remotely. We have systems set up which allow us to continue supporting the Federation as usual. We will be working remotely to be able to respond in a timely manner, but please do bear with us.

IAF Spring Meetings 2020
As you all know by now, the IAF Spring Meetings 2020 have been cancelled. However, we are committed to ensure that most of the meetings and discussions that would normally take place in Paris can still take place remotely, via video and phone connections, in order not to disrupt the activities of the Federation and its community. Please check the virtual meetings schedule on our website.

Global Space Exploration Conference #GLEX2020
At present, we have not changed the date for this conference and we expect to take a final decision on whether to go ahead or postpone it by mid-April 2020. Please check latest info on our website.

International Astronautical Congress #IAC2020
The best for last: it is with great excitement that we inform you of the 3800 abstracts submitted from 88 countries for the first ever IAF Congress in an Arab country! This will be the brightest moment of the year in a beautiful sunny country such as the U.A.E., we will all gather again to celebrate life. Please check latest info on our website.

But for now, it is a time for people to look out for each other, and for human kindness and warmth. Even if we cannot enjoy this face-to-face please remember that our IAF social media channels are one way to maintain contact with the IAF and with each other, you are not alone.
